The 2023 Moto G Power flaunts a sleek display revamp and supports 5G for the first time, but it will cost you $50 more at launch than its forerunner. The Moto G Power, which is focused more on battery longevity, comes with quite the catch in 2023. This year, Moto’s battery claims aren’t as ambitious due to the addition of 5G, a more powerful processor, a sharper screen, and, yes, a higher price.
The starting price of this year’s 128GB model is $299. Would it still make it a great handset that’s really worthwhile to buy?! Well, let’s dig into some specs and features and really convince ourselves we finally get what Motorola wants to sell.
The Motorola Moto G Power 5G keeps the lights on for several hours thanks to a huge 5,000mAh battery. It also draws its power from a MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. Quite impressive, isn’t it?! Such specs are definitely a significant improvement over the last Moto G Power’s 4G-only Helio G37 processor, which was released back in 2022.
And there’s more!
There is also the 5G connectivity on Moto G Power that really makes the difference. Other features and specs include a 1080p LCD with a peak refresh rate of up to 120Hz, (clearly an improvement above the 720p 90Hz screen from the previous model). And let’s face it, with such a large screen, the resolution is by far amazing, and the increase in frame rate to 120Hz should bring us closer to perfection and better motion.
Coming to camera skills, there is a 50MP primary camera, cool depth and macro cameras, and a headphone port. The most recent G Power may be a decent buy if the screen and CPU improvements live up to expectations. We can only wait and see for the first reviews of the smartphone!
