A lot of time had passed since March 2018, when the Universe Survival arc of the Dragon Ball Super anime ended. At that time, the fans knew very well that the anime would return at some point, as the narrator himself of the show suggested. However, it was still uncertain if he was referring to the DBS anime or just featured films such as Super Hero.
Thanks to trusted leaker @DBSChronicles, we now know that the Dragon Ball Super anime is coming soon for the big screens once again. A second season of the anime is already in production, and we’ll get a new episode each week, as it happened before.
I can confirm:
1. Weekly Dragon Ball episodes set after the "Universe Survival Arc" are in production. Anime will be back in 2023.
2. NEW DB Movie after SH is currently in pre-production. Toei is planning to release movies once in 2-3 years.

The manga version continued the story long after the ending of the Tournament of Power arc from Dragon Ball Super, the manga is already at the second major arc. We’re guessing that the return of the anime will showcase the story as it appears in the manga, which means that it should dive right into the Moro arc.
For those unaware, Moro is a major villain who becomes more and more powerful by sucking the energy out of entire planets. That’s why he’s also known as Moro the Planet Eater. It’s also worth mentioning that Moro is able to copy the abilities of other fighters by simply grabbing their scruff. As it usually happens in Dragon Ball, Moro became a lot more powerful along the way and while dealing with the Z warriors. Goku, Vegeta, and the others had a very hard time battling Moro, and we must say that it was a pretty exciting arc that deserves to be animated. We’ve seen the villain transforming a few times as well.
If the writers won’t continue the Dragon Ball Super anime by relying on the manga, it’s pretty much anybody’s guess how the story might continue.
