Perhaps everybody knows that water is, in general, lethal to technology. But it doesn’t necessarily have to happen that way, as there are plenty of companies out there that created waterproof phones. In other words, you won’t feel uncomfortable using those devices on a rainy day. That doesn’t mean that you can put those phones in your bathtub, but still, getting a few drops of water on them shouldn’t be a problem.
Today we’ve made a list of some of the best waterproof phones that you can buy in 2022. Feel free to explore the options, and choose which one is suitable for you:
Samsung Galaxy S22
Phones from the Samsung Galaxy S22 series are great examples of top waterproof phones! We’ll talk a bit about the Ultra model of the lineup.
The phone comes in IP68 dust/water resistance, and the rest of the specs are also mind-blowing. There are two versions of RAM (8GB and 12GB), an Exynos 2200 processor, a huge Dynamic AMOLED display of 6.8 inches and a refresh rate of 120Hz, and more.
The cameras are also impressive when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. There’s a 108MP main camera setup mounted on the rear – a wide camera accompanied by a telephoto lens and a periscope telephoto lens. The main camera setup can even record up to 8K quality videos.
The selfie camera reaches 40MP, which is more than enough for all those true vloggers out there who are more numerous these days than grains of sand from all the beaches on Earth!
Apple iPhone 13
The iPhone 13 flagship lineup of phones built by Apple is another great example of waterproof devices. These gadgets are also capable of IP68-rated resistance to both water and dust. We’ll be talking here especially about the champion iPhone 13 Pro Max model, as it’s arguably the best of the lineup.
Pro Max supports up to 1TB of storage, which means enormous for a phone! But the A15 Bionic processor arguably takes the cake, as it’s perhaps the fastest chipset ever built by Apple.
iPhone 13 Pro Max also stands out for its Super Retina XDR OLED display of 120Hz for its refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR 10, and more.
There’s a main quad camera setup of 12MP, having functions such as dual-pixel PDAF, sensor-shift OIS, 3x optical zoom, and more.
OnePlus 10 Pro
Who said that Chinese brands are dead? OnePlus is one of those firms that are proving the opposite every year, and the OnePlus 10 Pro model is a great example of a powerful flagship. It came out this year in January, and it impresses mainly for its fast charging capabilities, powerful 5000mAh battery, the LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED display of 120Hz, and more.
Of course, the OnePlus 10 Pro is also capable of doing its thing if you drop some water on it. The phone packs IP68 dust and water resistance when it comes to T-Mobile only.
OnePlus 10 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and there are two versions of RAM available: 8GB and 12GB. The cameras are also worthy of all the attention – the device packs the main setup of 50MP that’s also capable of video recording at 8K quality. There’s also a powerful selfie camera for vlogs, which is set at 32MP.
Google Pixel 6 Pro
The Google Pixel 6 Pro surely deserves to be on this list as well, as it’s also capable of IP68 dust and water resistance. A large 6.71-inch LTPO AMOLED display of 120Hz refresh rate and 12GB of RAM are some of the strongholds of the phone.
There is also a triple camera setup of 50MP mounted on the rear: wide, telephoto, and ultrawide sensors. Features such as Dual-LED flash, Pixel Shift, Auto-HDR, and panorama also exist.
The selfie camera consists of an 11MP sensor, and it features panorama and Auto-HDR. Both the main and selfie cameras reach a video recording capability of 4K.
Apple iPhone SE (2022)
If you’re looking for a compact phone that you can maneuver using just one hand at a time, you should consider giving Apple iPhone SE (2022) a try. This gadget also features the A15 Bionic chipset built by Apple, one of the best processors of the Cupertino-based giant.
iPhone SE (2022) features IP67 dust/water resistance, and the display represents the most interesting part. This iPhone model features a screen that’s just 4.7 inches tall, and it’s of the Retina IPS LCD type. The phone also packs 4GB of RAM, and there are also three versions of storage: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Our assumption is that it’s pretty hard nowadays without a phone that features at least 128GB of space.
The cameras that the iPhone SE (2022) device is featuring aren’t too sophisticated, but they might be enough for someone who’s not especially interested in taking photos. There are also some powerful features, however, that the cameras of the phone have: Quad-LED dual-tone flash, HDR, and panorama.
Except for the cameras, here are other features that those getting their hands on an iPhone SE (2022) can benefit from: Fingerprint (front-mounted), accelerometer, barometer, proximity, gyro, and compass.
There are lots of other interesting waterproof phones out there, as the smartphone market doesn’t seem to have any limit! You can feel free to tell us in the comment section if you would choose any of the models on our list, or if you prefer other phones!
