Google Play Services represent the driving force behind the updating of apps from the Google Play Store. In other words, an Android phone without Google Play Services would be like a wedding without the bride.
It’s obvious that just like any other piece of software, Google Play Services also needs updates for itself. That’s why the 22.28.55 beta is already up for grabs via the APKMirror website! The update comes in numerous download variants – 34, to be more precise! You can choose between bundles or simple APK files. While the majority of the options won’t work if you have an Android version below 9 Pie installed on your phone, there are also plenty of exceptions.
What’s new
There aren’t any patch notes available yet on APKMirror regarding Google Play Services 22.28.55 beta, but that surely doesn’t mean that you have to neglect the update completely. There are most probably some functionality and bug fixes included.
Before you proceed with the download, it would be a good idea to check out the FAQ section of APKMirror.
If you want to learn more about Google Play Services (and maybe you should since we’re talking about a vital component of any Android phone), feel free to check out a part of the description that’s provided by APKMirror:
This component provides core functionality like authentication to your Google services, synchronized contacts, access to all the latest user privacy settings, and higher quality, lower-powered location based services.
Google Play services also enhances your app experience. It speeds up offline searches, provides more immersive maps, and improves gaming experiences.
With Android 13 being just around the corner, it’s nice to see that older versions of Google’s mobile operating system still count in one way or another. Judging by the info we have, Android 13 should be released for specific Pixel phones by August 2022.
