Where It All Started?
Kyrie posted a link on Twitter to a film with hateful assertions about Jewish people, and he initially declined to apologize. After the Net’s decision to suspend the star, he relented and posted on Instagram.
To All Jewish families and Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain, and I apologize.
The NBA’s players released statements condemning antisemitism without naming Irving in the past week. Also, the Nets owner Joe Tsai posted on Twitter that he is disappointed by Kyrie. On Wednesday, Irving and the Nets declared in a statement with the Anti-Defamation League that they would donate $500,000 to unspecified causes and organizations that combat hate in their communities.

Kyrie Irving is a professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets, and he won an NBA championship with the Cavaliers in 2016.
