Even if there is a shocking dearth of knowledge on anything related to the game, including the game’s main region, The Elder Scrolls 6 is still one of the most eagerly awaited games to have an official release date. Fans have speculated for a long time that the most fitting and plausible setting for The Elder Scrolls 6 is Hammerfell, but this is based almost entirely on the teaser video from E3 2018. Over the course of the past eleven years, many different versions of Skyrim have been released, but Bethesda has remained strangely quiet about the next installment in The Elder Scrolls saga, with the majority of fans only being aware of its existence thanks to the same teaser trailer that was released over four years ago.
It’s understandable that Bethesda would devote all of its resources on developing Starfield, given the massive scope of the game, but it’s been almost 1600 days since we heard anything about The Elder Scrolls 6. Pete Parsons has stated that The Elder Scrolls 6 would not release before Fable 4, and recent rumors have suggested that the game’s release date could be as early as October of next year. Since the release of Starfield has been pushed back to the first half of 2023, the next trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6 is unlikely to arrive before the end of that year.
It makes a lot of sense for Bethesda to delay any further major announcement until Starfield is officially released, so as not to detract from all the excitement around the game’s release. Starfield’s release date is still up in the air, although it’s more likely to be in the spring than the first quarter of 2023, which is perilously near to the fifth anniversary of the E3 2018 teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6.
Since this year marks the eleventh anniversary of Skyrim’s release, November 11 was originally set as Starfield’s release date. Therefore, it’s feasible that November 11 will play a role in The Elder Scrolls 6, whether it’s the release date in the distant future or the release of the game’s second trailer next year. Starfield may be getting a lot of attention right now, but the next Elder Scrolls game may be a while in the making.
