If you are a real Shiny Hunter, you definitely need the Shiny Charm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet!
Shiny Pokemon are so all so cool and come in a variety of stunning colors. They can hatch from eggs or spawn in the wild, and they are sometimes really challenging to be found. However, as long as you pay close attention to your surroundings and you’re lucky enough to come across a Shiny Charm, your mission will be easy.
Curious about how to get a Shiny Charm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Here is what you need to know.
Shiny Charms in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: a Complete Guide
The biology instructor at Naranja/Uva Academy, Jacq, is where you can get the Shiny Charm. As easy as that might be, there’s still much to do.
For example, you must finish the Pokedex (yes, you read correctly!) to obtain the charm. So, you need to catch all the Pokemon in Paldea. Quite challenging, isn’t it?!
How does this work?
Practically, here are all the steps to get a Shiny Charm:
- Try your best and catch all 400 Pokemon; you will also have to trade with someone who has the exact opposite variant of Scarlet or Violet to obtain Version Exclusives, including Deino or Larvitar, and evolution-by-trade ‘mon;
- Go back to Naranja (Scarlet)/Uva (Violet) Academy;
- Head to the Biology Lab, where you’ll meet Jacq;
- Finally, get your Shiny Charm!
How does a Shiny Charm work?
Did you know that finding and hatching a Shiny Pokemon has an exact probability of 1 in 4096? Well, that’s quite brilliant yet a bit intimidating.
Luckily, that rate is reduced to 1 in 2044 if you use a Shiny Charm. All you need to do is to carry your Shiny Charm in your bag and use it when it’s time. Shiny Rates apply to naturally occurring Pokemon and Pokemon that hatch from eggs.
