In order to say farewell to Ash Ketchum, the Pokemon anime is currently making its way through a rather special series.
More precisely, the franchise is preparing to transition completely to a new group of trainers with a brand new promo that gives fans a much anticipated first sneak peek at the new main protagonist!
When Pokemon Journeys came to an end with Ash Ketchum winning the world championship, it was unexpectedly revealed that the show would continue its storyline with a new group of trainers who would begin their journeys from the start.
Consequently, this will be the first full anime series without Ash since the start of the franchise.
Where the two young trainers Liko and Roy will end up in the upcoming Pokemon anime is still a mystery, but the show has revealed the new season will begin in other countries on April 14.
A new promo that confirms this release date also teases that the main plot of the series will center on an enigmatic pendant that Liko wears around her neck while showcasing a much closer view of her character’s design.

Currently set to premiere this spring, the upcoming Pokemon anime has not yet revealed its exact title.
However, what is known so far about the new series is that it will follow two new trainers, Liko and Roy, who are set to travel with the 3 Starter Pokemon from Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Paldea region – Sprigatito, Quaxly and Fuecoco.
More precisely, the anime is expected to premiere in Japan in the month of April, but its foreign debut has not been announced as of yet.
Depending on how quickly Pokemon Ultimate Journeys’ final episodes stream on Netflix in the other areas, it may be out later this year, but everyone else that lives outside of Japan may, unfortunately, have to wait for an early 2024 release.
