A tabletop recreation of Monster Hunter World’s meaningful Iceborne DLC has been unveiled by Steamforged Games.
That’s right! A successor to Steamforged’s Monster Hunter: World board game, which was financed on Kickstarter just last year, is about to be released with the title of Monster Hunter World Iceborne: The Board Game.
The self contained game Monster Hunter World Iceborne: The Board Game will have a variety of adventures, original gameplay elements, and, most importantly, brand new monsters for gamers to hunt!
Similar to the original Monster Hunter: World board game, players will use card-driven mechanisms to combat monsters.
Also like in that same title, successful hunts result in stronger weaponry, which in turn results in larger monsters.
On May 18 of this year, the Kickstarter for Monster Hunter World Iceborne: The Board Game is set to officially open!
The Clutch Claw weapon, which enables players to approach near to their target, and turf wars, which periodically force new monsters to flood the battlefield, frequently when players are chasing a different prey, are just a couple of the most noteworthy features of Monster Hunter World Iceborne: The Board Game.
Steamforged’s co-founder Mat Hart said that “We are beyond excited to continue the journey through the Monster Hunter: World universe. There are many huge fans of Monster Hunter on our team, and it has been a pleasure seeing how positively the first board game was received as an authentic, faithful adaptation. Now, we are dedicated to bringing Iceborne to life on tabletop in a way that does as much justice to the unique experience of hunting monsters through the frozen wastes. Get your Clutch Claws ready!”
In addition to creating board games for the first three Resident Evil titles, Steamforged and Capcom have a long history of collaboration.
Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Gears of War are some of the other Steamforged video game adaptations you are undoubtedly quite familiar with.
