Get ready for a new Yuzu Nintendo Switch experience now on Android! That’s just another hit milestone for Yuzu, especially when it delivers such perfect performance and up to 60 FPS for some games.
Details about the new OS support have just been released in a recent article on the Yuzu website, including information about the team’s goal to enhance feature parity, performance, and compatibility, of the Android releases as well as hardware requirements. Get now the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator for your Android device from the Google Play Store, or try the PC option from Yuzu’s official website.
What hardware requirements does the emulator need?
Check out the list below of Yuzu’s requirements on Android devices:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs (Adreno GPUs)
- SD 865 and 8GB of RAM or more are expected
Note that the Android devices powered by SoCs like Exynos and Mediatek will be unable to operate the Yuzu emulator owing to poorer GPU drivers. Yuzu also needs Android 11 or a newer version in addition to a number of necessary Vulkan extensions. But fear not, because Google Play Store will check for them automatically.
What do you think of the new Yuzu upgrade on Android devices? Would you give it a try?
As you can see, performance can definitely vary a lot, but that actually depends on your Android device. The Yuzu development team gave a brief overview of some performance data on the powerful Samsung Galaxy S23 and S20 FE 5G. But how about the games you can play via Yuzu on Android?
Luckily, we have many games we can get our hands on! Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is the first example, followed by Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and Link’s Awakening. Then, we can try Super Smash Bros. or perhaps Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Ultimate. What do these games have in common? All these games have a 60 FPS frame rate. Pretty cool, right?!
