Who doesn’t like to send voice messages via WhatsApp? Could there be… everyone? Why would you spend time tapping on that annoying virtual keyboard when you can just press a button and send a voice message? But still, WhatsApp raises the stakes even more by introducing the possibility of sending video messages.
The possibility to send video messages is available for WhatsApp starting today, according to an official post by Meta. There’s a catch, however, as you know what they say that you can’t have them all in life. Those instant video messages must be a maximum of 60 seconds long.
WhatsApp’s video messages are end-to-end encrypted
There’s no use worrying that anyone other than the person you’re messaging will listen and see your video message. That’s because the new video messages feature is protected by end-to-end encryption, similar to regular text messages. And who are we to doubt what Meta says?
Meta put it crystal clear in its post about the new video messages feature for WhatsApp:
Voice messages on WhatsApp changed the way people communicate by providing a quick and secure way to share your voice. We’re excited to build on this feature with new instant video messages. Now you can record and share short personal videos directly in the chat.
The same post further explains:
Video messages are a real-time way to respond to chats with whatever you want to say and show in 60 seconds. We think these will be a fun way to share moments with all the emotion that comes from video, whether it’s wishing someone a happy birthday, laughing at a joke, or bringing good news.
WhatsApp is constantly looking to improve its services, as the platform has added a few other powerful features in the recent past. Obviously, we can realistically hope for a lot more to come!
