It looks like Elon Musk is dropping some pretty bold prediction for the future. He says that there will be a universal high income as jobs are phasing out and employment becomes obsolete.
Universal high income, predicted by Elon Musk
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, made alarming predictions about the impact of AI on jobs and income during the inaugural AI Safety Summit in the UK in November.
The CEO presented a utopian vision where AI eliminates traditional jobs but creates an “age of abundance” through “universal high income.”
“It’s hard to say exactly what that moment is, but there will come a point where no job is needed,” Musk told U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
“You can have a job if you want to have a job or sort of personal satisfaction, but the AI will be able to do everything.”
Although Musk acknowledged that the prospect of AI may make some people uncomfortable, he remained optimistic about a future powered by “protopian” artificial intelligence.
“I think everyone will have access to this magic genie, and you’re able to ask any question. It’ll be certainly bigger for education. It’ll be the best tutor,” he said. “And there will be no shortage of goods and services. It will be an age of abundance.”

Musk’s idea of “universal high income” is an evolution of universal basic income (UBI) supported by other tech leaders like Sam Altman.
Elon Musk has big plans for humanity, as I’ve reported not too long ago.
He has been making a lot of headlines lately due to his moves regarding Neuralink, but also SpaceX’s Starship.
The famous SpaceX CEO revealed his huge plans for the Starship rocket to reach Mars within the next five years.
