The Dragon Ball franchise is pretty active today, at 38 years since its debut. The new ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ movie is still maintaining itself comfortably in the front row news, along with the Dragon Ball Super manga or the Super Dragon Ball Heroes anime.
But the creator of the legendary franchise, Mr. Akira Toriyama himself, is already preparing to start working on new Dragon Ball projects. The work on the 2022 movie began in the same period when ‘Dragon Ball Super: Broly’ was released back in 2018.
Producer Akio Iyoku confirms Toriyama’s involvement in new Dragon Ball projects
Comicbook.com reveals that producer Akio Iyoku brings the huge news that Akira Toriyama is already committed to new Dragon Ball projects. Iyoku made the claim in a new interview for the V-Jump magazine in order to celebrate the launch of the new 2022 featured film ‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.’ However, what exactly Toriyama has in mind at this point is anybody’s guess.
The Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama has proven along the years to be diligent enough to not miss the boat when it comes to his franchise. When the story had the potential to be extended in more interesting ways, Toriyama was there to exploit that option. The ending of the Dragon Ball Super anime back in March 2018, right after the conclusion of the Tournament of Power, opens up the story for a lot of possible exciting continuations.
Akira Toriyama is well-known for leaving no stone unturned when it comes to continuing the Dragon Ball franchise in ways that he finds more exciting. Some critics say that he must let sleeping dogs lie, but we don’t agree. Either way, we’ll find out more information on the subject soon enough, and we’ll gladly let the cat out of the bag, so stay tuned!
