According to Bloomberg, Apple has additional health functions for AirPods planned for release within the next year or two. The world’s largest technology company has previously recognised the positive effects that using AirPods may have on users’ health and is now making significant investments in the sector. It is anticipated that one of the new features will be the capability to obtain hearing data of some kind.
Live Listen is a function that is already available on AirPods. It was introduced in 2018 as a part of iOS 12 for the first time. With the use of this technology, an iPhone can be transformed into a directional microphone, and the sound that is recorded on the phone may be sent to AirPods in real time. Unfortunately, the FDA has not yet given its approval for Live Listen. It’s possible that regulatory permission will be granted at some point in the future.
In an interview for 2021, an official at Apple named Kevin Lynch recognized the health benefits that may be associated with using AirPods. He stated, “We already conduct sensor fusion across several devices now, and I think there’s all kinds of possibilities here.” [Citation needed]
It is not yet known what type of health features will eventually be included with AirPods, but it is evident that Apple is interested in this field and that it coincides with Tim Cook’s broader ambitions. Apple aims to improve the AirPods to become a health tool, and if the AirPods do ultimately take on formal hearing aid duties, it could possibly assist tens of millions of people. This is a step in the right direction for Apple.
As Apple continues to invest in the health potential of its products, it appears that there is a bright future for AirPods as a tool for maintaining and improving one’s health. The additional capabilities might make AirPods even more useful to consumers by giving them a means to check their health on a regular basis. This would be a benefit that would be provided by the AirPods.
