Not everybody is hyped when it comes to foldable smartphones. Those who criticize these devices claim that there’s a two-edged sword problem: foldables might be efficient, but their battery drains much faster than those of regular smartphones. Furthermore, foldable devices can also be too fragile.
In recent years, a few top smartphone manufacturers released their versions of foldable gadgets: Samsung, Huawei, Motorola, and more. But which company will be up next? It seems that the good old Apple will be next in line, and that certainly wouldn’t surprise anyone.
Apple’s first foldable device could launch in 2025
According to NextPit, Apple’s first foldable device will land on the market two years from now, and it shall be an iPad-MacBook hybrid. It will also be some kind of a ‘laptop computer,’ and its displays probably represent the most interesting addition – they are flexible. In other words, Apple’s first foldable will probably have dual displays if the information is correct.
The displays won’t be in the typical way of foldable devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, like a main display when you open up the device and another display on the cover. Apple’s future foldable will have both displays on the same side instead of having them added on each side.
You should keep in mind to take the information revealed in this article with a grain of salt. However, time will surely uncover the mystery sooner or later.
One thing’s for sure: a few years ago, the concept of a foldable smartphone represented something that most people couldn’t wrap their heads around. The situation has changed dramatically, and it’s only a matter of time until more and more powerful ‘foldables’ will reach the market.
