This year is sure to be huge for the video game industry as a whole, but the month of April in particular, doesn’t seem to be as busy as it has been in other years.
Despite this, a number of notable titles will still be released in the following month.
Here are some of the major video game releases from April. It has to be noted that this list is not all-inclusive.
There are many other amazing games coming out the month that is right around the corner, this list aiming to simply showcase the most noteworthy releases.
Dead Island 2
The long awaited second installment in the fan-favorite zombie game is coming on April 21 on all platforms including PC and last gen and current gen consoles.
The game’s official description reads: “Dead Island 2 is a thrilling First-Person Action RPG, vibrant and flooded with zombies. Explore iconic, gore drenched Los Angeles. Slay countless enemies in exquisitely bloody detail. Evolve to become the ultimate Zombie Slayer!”
Minecraft Legends
Gamers can play the game starting with April 18 on Nintendo Switch and PC, as well as on current and previous gen consoles.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is being released on the PS5 on April 19!
As for what you can look forward to, the description reads: “South of the Tenakth Clan Lands, a millennium of volcanic eruptions and seismic activity has carved the ruins of LA into a perilous archipelago. Experience the upcoming chapter of Horizon Forbidden West, as Aloy pursues an ominous threat hidden among dangerous, untamed wilds.”
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened
The exciting new game will be available on old and new gen consoles as well as on PC and Nintendo Switch.
“Experience a nerve racking Lovecraftian adventure, rebuilt with modern graphics and gameplay. Become Sherlock and find yourself at the heart of the dreadful Cthulhu Mythos as you investigate mysterious disappearances in Europe and US.”
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming to current gen consoles and PC on April 28.

Ghostwire: Tokyo
The beloved game will soon be available for the Xbox Series X|S as well, starting on April 12.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox
Last but not least, The Last Case of Benedict Fox will be released on April 27 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, as well as on PC.
