Larian Studios has just unveiled Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3, and we need to say right from the start that it’s one of the most exciting updates yet. The patch brings cross-play support, meaning that you no longer have to worry if you have the right platform to play against a friend. In other words, players across different platforms can now team up as they wish, even though they run the game from PC, PlayStation, macOS, or Xbox.
Let’s also not forget about the twelve new subclasses that have been introduced in Baldur’s Gate 3, as they offer players more ways to customize their characters, adding even more variety to their gameplay.
Patch 8 goes live on PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox
Another one of the standout features in the new update is the long-awaited Photo Mode, which will allow players to capture their favorite in-game moments using powerful new tools. But wait, there’s more! In the case of those players who choose to run the game from an Xbox Series S console, there’s more good news—split-screen co-op is now available, which can enhance the local multiplayer experience on that console.
On the other hand, if you’re a modder, you also have a reason to celebrate, due to the modding toolkit receiving a major update. This obviously opens the door to more creative and streamlined content creation for the community of players. Lastly, as with any massive new update, Larian has included a wide range of bug fixes and overall improvements, ensuring smoother performance for those willing to play Baldur’s Gate, regardless of what platforms they use for it.
It’s obvious that Patch 8 not only enhances the technical side of Baldur’s Gate 3, but also expands its creative and cooperative potential in the case of all gamers who wish to play it.
The initial release for Baldur’s Gate 3 took place in August 2023.
