At last, the much anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk, Edgerunners, is on the horizon. The crew at Studio Trigger has been hard at work perfecting the series for quite some time, but they are certain that their efforts will be rewarded once autumn arrives. After all, the first episode of the Cyberpunk 2077 anime is expected to premiere in a few short months, and a brand new teaser and poster for the game have just been released.
As you can see up there, the new video is a rough one, and it does a good job of showcasing Studio Trigger’s signature color palette. The video starts off with a thief going wild in a future metropolis, and then everything takes a significant turn from there. After a brief instrumental break, a young guy takes control of the advertisement as we are introduced to the protagonist of the anime. It would seem that the protagonist’s difficult upbringing has led them to the seedier side of Night City.
As you can see up above, a poster for the series was also made available at the same time. The whole cast of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is seen in their high-tech forms in the key image for the game. In the next autumn season, viewers will get the opportunity to meet these protagonists over the course of ten episodes, and those who have played Cyberpunk 2077 may recognize certain special appearances as the anime progresses.
The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animated series tells the story of a street boy who is attempting to make it through life in a metropolis of the future that is fascinated with technology and body modification. In spite of the fact that he stands to lose everything, he makes the decision to become an edgerunner, a kind of mercenary criminal also known as a cyberpunk.
