Dead Island 2 to Be Released a Week Earlier than Previously Announced!

Dead Island 2’s April 28 release date has been changed and moved up by a whole week!

This is really unusual, as you may be aware, so it’s almost comical that it’s occurring with Dead Island 2 given the game’s problematic and extremely prolonged production that was already plagued by several other delays.

Instead of April 28, the game will now be released on April 21 for PCs, PS4, PS5 and both current and last gen Xbox consoles.

The game has officially gone gold, according to publisher Deep Silver and developer Dambuster Studios.

This means that the game is now fully finished and is prepared to be printed onto physical discs and get shipped to buyers.

The reason why the game is coming earlier than expected has not been shared.

Obviously however, if they made this decision, it means that the game is ahead of schedule and will be appropriately polished by the time it is published.

At the same time, however, it’s also conceivable that the team, or some of its members might need to be reassigned to another project or future DLC, which has led to the release being rushed.

The news was shared on the game’s official Twitter account and reads: “You asked for it and you got it. Dead Island 2 went gold and it is coming out a week early. See you in HELL -A on April 21, 2023. #DeadIsland #SeeYouInHELLA.”

On April 21, Dead Island 2 will be made available globally on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. It will cost $59.99, which is actually $10 cheaper than several other recently released AAA titles.

If you want to learn some more about the upcoming game, the synopsis provided for it reads: “A deadly virus is spreading across Los Angeles, California, turning all its inhabitants into ravenous zombies. The city is now in quarantine and the military have retreated. Bitten and infected, but more than just immune, you learn to actually harness the zombie inside. Only you, and a handful of other fellows who happen to be resistant to this pathogen, holds the future of Los Angeles (and of humanity), in the balance. As you uncover the truth behind this outbreak you will discover who-or what-you are. Survive, evolve, save the world-just another day in Los Angeles!”
