Death Stranding The Movie: What to Expect
Even if they don’t come up with a whole new tale for the big screen, Variety claims that the Death Stranding movie will incorporate new characters and themes into the Death Stranding universe. And that’s something that’ll move most fans of the game and the genre!
This news follows Kojima’s presentation of Death Stranding 2 at The Game Awards.
We are thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to partner with brilliant and iconic Hideo Kojima on his first film adaptation; […] this will be something far more intimate and grounded. Our goal is to redefine what a video game adaptation could be when you have creative and artistic freedom, stated Alex Lebovici, the Hammerstone co-founder.
The Death Stranding movie is being made by Kojima Productions in collaboration with Hammerstone Studios in Los Angeles.
Such a move is not entirely surprising, considering the 2019 action game already offers a distinctly cinematic experience with its sleek and dramatic plots and other intriguing scenes.
The game takes place in a cool post-apocalyptic version of America where mysterious beings known as “Beached Things” appeared and set off nuclear bomb-like blasts.
Given that Kojima opted to cast well-known actors as its protagonists, Death Stranding was a production replete with A-list talent. And the actors included some great names, such as Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges, the main character, Mads Mikkelsen and Léa Seydoux.
The Death Stranding will definitely come as a big hit!
