The Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot game will soon be improved with the “A New Power Awakens” Set, and you surely have strong reasons to be excited if you’re one of the numerous Dragon Ball fans out there! Whether you want to see new transformations of Goku and Vegeta, new super attacks, or a lot more, running the “A New Power Awakens Set” is the right way of getting all those things in the fighting game.
The new DLC launches in just two days, and the launch trailer confirms that we’re dealing with a great addition to the main game:
Is the expansion once again mostly about Goku? Well, yes, it is! And we cannot complain about it! The beloved Saiyan will embark on a new journey once again. Throughout his life, Goku had fought all kinds of fighters. Since he was just a kid, he managed to save the world after defeating King Piccolo. When he became an adult, Goku remained one of the world’s main heroes. He saved the planet from the Saiyan invasion, he regained vengeance against Frieza, he had tremendous contributions in saving the planet once again from Cell’s wrath, and he defeated the most terrifying villain from Dragon Ball Z: Majin Buu. Throughout such journeys, Goku had two great motivations: to protect the innocent and to always become stronger.
Super Saiyan Blue: a burden too big?
At first, the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was, as you’ve already guessed, only about the Dragon Ball Z anime. But later on, the game was improved with plenty of aspects from Dragon Ball Super. Beerus came into the scene and pushed Goku enough to become a Super Saiyan God, Frieza came back from the dead with his brand new “Golden” form, both Goku and Vegeta achieved the Super Saiyan Blue transformation, and so on. However, the latter is an enormous power boost from the classical Super Saiyan with gold hair.
A Super Saiyan Blue is so powerful that it made the former transformation look like nothing. Such power only increased the power gap between Goku, Vegeta, and the other Z warriors. At first, it was seen as impossible to “cover” in the anime, but Dragon Ball never had a problem in making characters stronger without too many explanations to give.
What’s next in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot?
We’re expecting to also see other major transformations of the Z warriors in the game soon enough. Goku achieved the Ultra Instinct transformation, and a Super Saiyan Blue pales by comparison with this one. In the manga version that continued after the airing of the Super anime, Vegeta also achieved some transformation that’s about just as strong as the Ultra Instinct form. It’s called Ultra Ego, and some of the fans even believe that it’s stronger than the Ultra Instinct technique. We’re hoping to see both transformations in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot one day.
Judging by how the updates have been in the fighting game, we should see the next updates bringing some aspects of the Tournament of Power arc from the anime. Therefore, we should see new fighters, new deities, the impressive techniques of Jiren or Hit, and a lot more. Maybe even Zeno will somehow be implemented in the game, meaning the strongest being of all.
