The Namekian race from Dragon Ball is a unique one indeed. It was introduced since the very first Dragon Ball anime, when Goku was a child, although the term “Namekian” was revealed afterward in Dragon Ball Z.
Every Namekian arguably has the potential of creating a new set of Dragon Balls. Piccolo created the ones from Earth long ago when he was in the Kami form. As any Dragon Ball fan knows already, Piccolo is one of the main characters in the series. But soon enough, he might have a new rival.
Who is the mysterious newly-introduced Namekian?
The team behind the Dragon Ball Super manga already focuses on introducing a new chapter. A new Namekian will be present there as well, and the news has already triggered a good amount of speculations online.

Our guess is that he could be a Namekian from another Universe. Such a scenario has been presented before in the Dragon Ball universe during the Tournament of Power arc. New Namekians from a different Universe were introduced there, and Piccolo along with Gohan made a great team while defeating them. The new Namekians were present there to defend their own universe, like all the other fighters participating in the tournament.
The Tournament of Power was a confrontation between the best fighters from all 12 universes. It was a battle royale, meaning that the latest fighter who remains standing wins the tournament. The stake was huge, as the universes losing all of their fighters would get erased from existence by Zeno.
Only time will tell for sure who is the newly-introduced Namekian from the Dragon Ball Super manga. As for now, the manga is focusing on Granolah’s battle with Gas, two warriors who achieved unprecedented powers after wishing so by using the dragon balls. We’re eagerly waiting to see what role the new and mysterious Namekian will have.
