The Dragon Ball Super Manga is currently unfolding, and there are still many scenarios that are at least theoretically plausible in the near future. Goku and Vegeta have a rough time dealing with Granolah, the Cerelian who’s very mad at the Saiyans. Granolah is perhaps the strongest villain that Goku and the gang ever had to face.
But as it always happens in Dragon Ball, an even more powerful villain will emerge sooner or later. The next one will make Granolah look like a toddler, and maybe we can already find out who that villain might be.
Uub could turn out to be evil and terrorize the Earth again
Why we are saying “again” in the heading is simple. For those who don’t know, Uub was first introduced back in Dragon Ball Z, and he is no more than the reincarnation of Majin Buu himself. The gods listened to Goku’s plea when he destroyed Buu and brought back the villain as a good person. Uub is good, humble, and kind, without a doubt, but the Dragon Ball writers have shown to be very clever when it comes to making a good guy become bad.
The problem is, Uub was only briefly introduced in Dragon Ball Super. It happened in Chapter 66, when Uub was a child, and he gave energy to Goku to destroy Planet Eater Moro. Let’s not forget that the events from Dragon Ball Super, including the Manga version, are set in a gap of ten years between some episodes of Dragon Ball Z. There seems to be no way for Uub to join the action in one way or another in Super since he was still a child at that point. But hey, everything is possible in Dragon Ball!
Uub could come from the future
Time travel has been speculated plenty of times in the Dragon Ball franchise by Trunks, Cell, Goku, Vegeta, and so on. It could happen again, although time travel seems to upset the gods pretty much. Therefore, an evil version of Uub could come to the future and start to terrorize Goku, Vegeta, and the rest. Uub would simply steal a time machine and go back to the past to meet Ultra Instinct Goku, for instance.
But how could Uub become evil? Well, in one way, he already is evil since he’s the reincarnation and therefore embodiment of Majin Buu, a character with absolutely no remorse when it comes to destroying and killing. Uub could find out about his former life as Majin Buu and let the evil from his heart grow.
Uub could also land under the spell of an evil wizard, as in the case of Vegeta when Babidi controlled him. Similar things happened in Dragon Ball GT as well, when the villain known as Baby controlled Gohan, Goten, and also Vegeta.
Why the writers would exploit Uub as a villain
Since Uub has already been shown in Dragon Ball Super, as previously mentioned in this article, it could be a strong indicator that the stage is being set for giving him more credit.
Dragon Ball Super and Super Dragon Ball Heroes had been pretty good at exploiting villains from the past. Well, Uub is more from the future, but he’s still a character worth bringing into the show.
Last but not least, Uub is very strong since he has the soul of Majin Buu, the strongest villain in Dragon Ball Z. All that power needs to be exploited in one way or another and giving Uub some evil missions would be interesting.
