Frieza is one of the most famous villains in anime history. He’s a former intergalactic tyrant who felt no remorse or mercy for anyone who would dare to stay in his way. Ruler of the universe back in the day of the Dragon Ball Z anime, Frieza was ultimately defeated on Namek by Goku.
But when it comes to the Dragon Ball Super anime, the show that meant the continuation of DBZ, Frieza’s role was different. He has been resurrected three times and often gets into trouble. Frieza even landed the Z warriors a helping hand in the Tournament of Power arc, although he did it for selfish reasons.
Frieza was a true menace
According to ScreenRant.com, the Japanese magazine V-Jump has new stuff to say about Frieza’s past.
Frieza is the son of King Cold, a mutant who was born with an incredibly high power level. However, his son surpassed him, which made King Cold leave the throne. Frieza, the new emperor, even managed to expand the kingdom.

As we all knew from the Dragon Ball Z anime, the Saiyans were almost completely eradicated by Frieza. However, some Saiyans, including Prince Vegeta, were doing dirty work for the evil tyrant. Nappa and Raditz were the henchmen of Vegeta, and they were all fighting to conquer planets and sell them.
In the magazine, we can also see important details about the Granolah arc, which has something in common with the old reckonings of the Saiyans. Granolah is a member of the Cerelian race, and he thought that Goku and Vegeta are responsible for the death of his mother long ago when the Saiyans were terrorizing Granolah’s planet. But in the end, everything became clearer, and Granolah realized that the true enemy was precisely a member of those who employed him as a bounty hunter.
