Even since the Dragon Ball Z anime ended, the power levels of the Z warriors achieved unprecedented heights. We’re not sure if Krillin and Yamcha managed to improve after the end of Z, but as for the rest, those power levels have gone way beyond 9000.
At the end of Dragon Ball Z, it’s a little unclear which fighter was the strongest. It could have been Goku in his Super Saiyan 3 form, or Gohan during his Ultimate technique. Either of these forms was pretty much unbeatable at its time, although Majin Buu put up some great fights.
If we look in Dragon Ball Super, both the anime and the manga versions, we find out that Goku and Vegeta had been through unfathomable power boosts compared to the Z series. Both achieved godly powers and also new transformations. If Goku had a power level of only 150,000,000 when he first became a Super Saiyan and fought Frieza on Namek, he’s light-years stronger now. However, we must say right from the start that it’s impossible to tell for sure the exact power level of a fighter or any of his transformations.
First, it was the Super Saiyan God transformation that Goku achieved during the “Battle of Gods” movie against Beerus. A regular Super Saiyan with gold hair couldn’t lay a finger on a Super Saiyan God. Meanwhile, Vegeta achieved the same transformation as well. Our guess is that both Goku and Vegeta at Super Saiyan God level reach a power level between 4.5 and 5 quadrillions.
Goku’s Ultra Instinct or Vegeta’s Ultra Ego?
It’s impossible to tell at this point if Goku’s Ultra Instinct technique is stronger or weaker than Vegeta’s Ultra Ego form. The manga version of Dragon Ball Super is still ongoing, and both the two mighty Saiyans still have a lot to prove against Granolah. What’s for sure is that both transformations mean the best of what Goku and Vegeta have to offer.
Based on what we know so far, we can estimate that the power level of Ultra Instinct Goku is somewhere between 12 and 13 septillions. This means that the power level of Vegeta’s Ultra Ego form is also somewhere of that huge and unprecedented magnitude. There’s even a good chance that Vegeta has surpassed Goku, considering the ultimate forms of the two fighters. However, probably only a direct confrontation will tell for sure.
A rematch between Goku and Vegeta?
Goku and Vegeta already fought against each other several times, and we would be glad to see the two Saiyans confront again. However, there are plenty of hints indicating that a rematch is on its way. Goku and Vegeta had become stronger together, they are easily the strongest Dragon Ball characters at this point, and they surely have old scores to settle. Vegeta is always eager to prove that he’s stronger, while Goku would never refuse a challenge.
Goku and Vegeta first fought on Earth during the Saiyan invasion. Vegeta was pure evil and a servant of Frieza at that time, and he wanted to gather the dragon balls for selfish and evil purposes. Goku managed to stop Vegeta’s wrath after a long and devastating fight. Vegeta left the Earth in his spaceship while he was severely wounded.
The second match between Goku and Vegeta was when both of them became Super Saiyans. Goku came back from the Other World to compete in the Martial Arts World Tournament, but that didn’t stop Vegeta from challenging him to a rematch. Vegeta was under Babidi’s spell, and that didn’t stop him from aiming his focus on Goku once again.
Regardless of who’s the strongest during their ultimate forms, Goku and Vegeta indeed have a special relationship. We’re eagerly looking forward to seeing how their future battles will unfold.
