As the release date of Samsung’s foldable flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, draws near, Xiaomi is also preparing to offer its own flip phone. A new era of flipping has begun!
Although many flip phones have the potential to be excellent, they all tend to look and feel the same. How likely is it that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be the most talked-about phone of the year? Let’s get into the groove with the Z Flip 5 and learn more about its expected specifications and features.
There are high expectations for every new Samsung foldable, but the Galaxy Z Flip 5 doesn’t seem to be all that different on paper. Yogesh Brar, a reliable source for such information, claims that the Flip 5 will include a new processor and an updated exterior display but otherwise remain unchanged from its predecessor.
The new features include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a 3.4-inch cover display, making it bigger than previous generations. But is this going to be highly impressive? Notably, the Motorola Razr+ has a larger 3.6-inch outside display, making this smaller device seem comparable.
In the meantime, reports from across the pond indicate that Xiaomi is working on its first foldable flip phone. The new Xiaomi flip phone is claimed to be an “extremely light and thin” flip gadget. In the past, Xiaomi has only made book-style foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold series. Still, their latest effort, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, has received a lot of attention for its slim and elegant design.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 also features a 3,700 mAh battery with 25W charging, Android 13, a 6.7-inch internal display, and a dual 12MP camera. All of it is identical to the Flip 4, and some reports even note that the pricing hasn’t changed from $999.
The exact release date of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is still unknown, but we expect more about it in the near future.
