Sunn Suljic, who plays Atreus in the 2018 God of War game as well as in its follow-up, God of War Ragnarok, has shared his wishes for the franchise’s future.
For those who have already finished playing Ragnarok, the game’s ending seems to imply that Atreus will play a significant role in whatever PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio decide to accomplish going forward.
While the future of God of War is still uncertain, Suljic undoubtedly has some thoughts of his own as well.
Suljic revealed to The Gamer where he wants to see Atreus go in upcoming God of War games.
Suljic stated that he would particularly want to see Atreus mature into a man since it would pave the way for future events featuring his character.
He continued by saying that because he had grown up with Atreus, it was appealing to see how quickly both he and the character were evolving.
Talking about the character’s future, Suljic stated that “I think that there are so many routes where Atreus can go, and those working on the narrative aspects will have a much better idea of this than I ever would. I think that it’d be cool to see Atreus grow into a man. I’ve had the opportunity to grow up with the character as well, so I feel like I can see myself a lot in the character as well, so I feel like we’re both developing at the same time.”
Of course, we still don’t know what PlayStation plans to do with God of War in the future, but it is certain that the series’ storyline will continue in a significant way.
God of War Ragnarok broke sales records for the PlayStation at launch and also received some of the greatest reviews of 2022.
In light of this, it appears quite probable that Suljic and Atreus will have more to discover in the future.
