When Google finally unveils the Google Pixel Fold, it will come on the heels of the release of the Google Pixel 7 series. Even still, days before the debut, several facts have leaked that show the specs of the Google Pixel Fold.
There have also been rumblings that the phone’s release date may be delayed beyond 2022. According to Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, Google Pixel Fold will debut in the first quarter of 2023.
Notifications of the Google Pixel Fold’s display reportedly leaked online. Display details for Google’s first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold, have been leaked. According to rumors, Google will brand its foldable smartphone as the Fold. There has been no official word from Google yet on when we might expect to see the Pixel Fold hit store shelves.
Reports indicate that Samsung will be responsible for manufacturing both the internal and the external screen for the Google Pixel Fold. Furthermore, Google’s first foldable smartphone will take design cues from the Oppo Find N. There will supposedly be a resolution of 1840 by 2208 pixels on the foldable screen.
Moreover, the dimensions of the folding screen are 123 x 148 mm. The source states that the maximum brightness of the screen will be 1200 nits. In addition, a 120Hz refresh rate will be available on the screen. It has been reported that the Pixel Fold will have three cameras installed on the back for photographic purposes.
The Sony IMX787 will serve as the primary sensor for all three cameras. In addition to a standard camera, the device will feature a telephoto camera from Samsung and an ultrawide camera from Sony (using the IMX386). The Google Pixel Fold will use a Sony IMX355 sensor for its front-facing camera.
The display cover will house a Samsung S5K3J1 sensor. Meanwhile, it has been speculated that the Pixel Fold’s side edge will house the device’s fingerprint scanner. The resolution of the cover display will be 1080×2100. The source claims that the Google Pixel Fold will be released in the spring of 2023.
Another Google foldable phone, codenamed “Pipit,” was allegedly rumored to exist earlier this year. However, the developer claims that the model’s Tensor SoC is now obsolete. According to industry insiders, Google’s rumored foldable smartphone might be called the Pixel Fold or Pixel Notepad. This model is said to be manufactured in China by the electronics giant Foxconn. It appears that the May 2018 launch of this smartphone was delayed. This device is said to feature a 7.57-inch internal display and a 5.78-inch exterior display protected by a thin glass panel.
