The Dragon Ball Super manga once again brought the franchise’s most iconic villain back from the ashes and with improved strength. Of course, his lust for vengeance is also there as well, even after his participation in the Tournament of Power arc from the animated show. The former galactic overlord fought to save the Universe for his own selfish desires after the bargain with Goku was made in Hell.
Frieza has been through a lot of transformations throughout his existence. Back in the day of Dragon Ball Z, the tyrant showed three of them until he achieved his most familiar one, where he looked like a short and almost skinny person with a big head. That was his fourth transformation and final form at that time. Later on in the series, he achieved his Mecha form. In the Resurrection ‘F’ movie and in the early Dragon Ball Super, Frieza achieved his ‘Golden’ form, making him just about as strong as Goku and Vegeta using the Super Saiyan Blue technique.
The most recent transformation is the one known as Black Frieza, and it was introduced in Chapter 87 of the Dragon Ball Super Manga. Frieza took both Goku and Vegeta out in one blow while the two Saiyans were using their most powerful transformations: Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, respectively. Frieza explained that he had been training for a few years away in a mysterious place to achieve his new terrifying powers. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that Frieza is now more powerful than Goku and Vegeta and that the next arc in the manga will have the former galactic tyrant in the spotlight once again. Frieza needs his revenge on Goku and Vegeta. So how can the Z warriors possibly defeat a much stronger opponent like Black Frieza? We believe we know a few ways, and hopefully, Goku and the others could learn something from them:
Goku and Vegeta fusing to create Gogeta or Vegito
As soon as Vegeta figured out how to tap into his Ultra Ego form, perhaps the entire Dragon Ball community had been waiting to see a fusion between him and Goku to create something like ‘Ultra Gogeta’ or ‘Ultra Vegito.’ The Saiyan Prince was nowhere near Goku when the latter was using his Ultra Instinct technique. A fusion between the two Saiyans at this point would create the strongest Gogeta or Vegito in Dragon Ball history. Such a fusion adds the powers of both fighters and multiplies the outcome a few times. Therefore, ‘Ultra Gogeta’, or however it would be called, will wipe the floor with pretty much anybody, and most probably, not even Black Frieza wouldn’t stand a chance.

Putting the spirit in the Spirit Bomb
During their iconic battle on Namek, Frieza managed to survive the Spirit Bomb getting dropped on him by Goku. But the main reason was that Goku didn’t get to gather enough energy for the technique to reach full effectiveness. If a new battle against Black Frieza starts, Goku will gather a lot of energy from nearby planets and the people of Earth if he wants to use the Spirit Bomb again. Thus, he should be able to eliminate the fiend once and for all.
The Spirit Bomb was proved effective against foes such as Majin Buu and Omega Shenron, who were much stronger than Frieza, at least considering the latter’s previous transformations.
Goku has learned how to use the Spirit Bomb on King Kai’s planet, but the only problem is that the beloved Saiyan needs some time to charge it. Frieza knows the technique very well and wouldn’t let Goku have his shot. Vegeta fighting Frieza for a while in order to make his rival have the time needed sounds like a feasible scenario.
Using the Evil Containment Wave (aka Mafuba)
The Evil Containment Wave (aka Mafuba) technique can be used to seal away an opponent that’s just too strong to handle otherwise. The chances are good that even Master Roshi can take care of Black Frieza this way, although the old turtle hermit has a power level that’s light-years below the one of the former intergalactic overlord.
We’ve seen the power of the Mafuba technique in action against villains such as King Piccolo, Frost, and more. It’s clear that the power level of the opponent becomes pretty much useless.
Leave it on the Saiyan Prince to avenge his people
Vegeta has never been the hero of an arc, and if Toriyama still considers the possibility of making the Saiyan Prince truly shine, it would be best to do it in a battle against Frieza. Almost the entire Saiyan race was wiped out by Frieza many years ago, and Vegeta hates him for that with every atom in his being. While anger wouldn’t be enough to win a battle against Black Frieza (although we have our doubts, as it’s modern Dragon Ball here we’re talking about), Vegeta needs that special ‘something.’ He’ll most probably have to do some special kind of training or just have another Z warrior to weak Frieza a bit. At the right moment, Vegeta can strike and have his special and heroic moment.
There’s no use thinking even for a moment that Frieza can ever change into a good person, similar to how it happened to Vegeta or Piccolo. Frieza is the kind of guy who would kill you in your sleep without having any remorse if that’s the condition for a selfish goal that he has. The former overlord is eager to have his revenge, especially on Goku, to regain his throne, and Zeno knows what else.
