For the lucky ones, Hogwarts Legacy is here at last! As you explore the open world and encounter various challenges, you might realize that you have many questions.
You can’t immediately do anything you want, as is the case with the majority of open world games, especially RPGs that provide you with additional skills as you progress.
You’ll also spend a lot of your time learning spells that will help you on your journey as a new fifth year at Hogwarts.
Some of them are for fighting evil witches and wizards roaming outside the castle, others are for solving puzzles, taking care of magical beasts and more!
Locked doors and prompts informing you that you need to be a specific level to access them will start to appear as you continue exploring Hogwarts and the surroundings.
But this will only matter when you’re much deeper into the game’s main storyline.
More precisely, you’ll be able to access a number of additional quests after completing a certain trial sometime in the middle of the game.
So when that time comes, here’s how you unlock those doors!
Well, without spoiling anything, after completing a certain quest for a certain character, they will end up teaching you the Alohamora spell, which will then allow you to finally access locks on many doors not available for lock picking before that point.
After the quest comes to an end, however, they will ask for more items that can only be collected at night.
Fortunately, if you ever find one of the items before the sun sets, you can change the game from day to night instead of waiting, and collect it immediately.
The way you can achieve this is just by opening your map and pressing the wait button.
As you locate and deliver these items, Alohomora levels 2 and 3 will become accessible, opening up even more previously sealed doors.
