Hogwarts Legacy, the newest Wizarding World video game, is already receiving the much anticipated virtual reality treatment, not even days after the official release!
More precisely, Flat2VR gave us a first glimpse of the game playing in a virtual reality setting.
The talented modders showed off around ten minutes of gameplay in which a Hogwarts student wandered the school’s corridors while interacting with people and items from a first person perspective.
Unfortunately, at the time the video was shared with the public, no release date for this mod was announced, so we still don’t know when we’ll be able to fully immerse ourselves in this wonderful fantasy world by using virtual reality.
This upcoming mod is made by Praydog, a modder community that has previously also given Resident Evil games support for virtual reality.
The video below was published on Flat2VR’s YouTube channel and contains a little sneak peek of what Hogwarts Legacy looks like in VR.
At first glance, it’s really fascinating to see a game like this operating from a VR perspective, albeit it is a little wobbly as one may expect from a VR game, especially when it’s merely a mod.
But what makes it truly impressive is that at the time this VR clip was shared, only those who had purchased the early access edition of Hogwarts Legacy were able to play it, meaning that the modders worked incredibly fast, creating this VR scene before the game’s official launch today.
The gameplay video gave no indication of when this mod will be made available to the general public, but, as you probably already know, you should anticipate adding this mod to your game only if you’re a PC gamer and own the necessary VR equipment.
However, even if that does not apply to you, it’s safe to say that it’s still very much fascinating to see how Hogwarts Legacy may look like in virtual reality.
All in all, despite previous controversy surrounding this game, Hogwarts Legacy is performing exceptionally well in terms of sales and the frequency with which it is being streamed and watched on Twitch, and this was the case even well before the game was officially launched.
