The Pokemon’s name will appear as “???” if you’re dealing with a Ditto, so that’s how you can capture the elusive Pokemon!
However, there’s a chance that Ditto will reveal itself even before the battle starts. That means that it’s not necessary to go all out in a battle in order to capture the famous Pokemon. What’s for sure is that you need to express your desire to start a battle against the Pokemon that you find in either the West Province Area Two or the West Province Area Three!
How strong is Ditto
If we remember the Pokemon anime, we realize that Ditto is a Pokemon that’s hard to beat. The creature’s copy abilities allow it to imitate any adversary. That’s how it happened during the battle between Ash and Drake that took place in the Orange Islands competition from Season 2 of the Pokemon anime. Ditto became a Pikachu to take down Ash’s own Pikachu. However, it was proven in that fight that nothing beats the original, as the iconic Pikachu of Ash was the one who grabbed the victory in the end.
Ditto is able to do its transformation gimmick by reconstituting its entire cellular structure. Thus, the creature can transform into whatever Pokemon it sees, and it’s weak against Fighting-type Pokemon. Ditto doesn’t even have a gander, which makes it able to breed with any other Pokemon it wants. Officially, limber is the main ability of Ditto.
Pokemon GO, meaning a Pokemon game that’s extremely popular, also involves wild Ditto’s wandering around for the trainers to catch. Also, those Ditto’s are disguised into other Pokemon only to make the mission much harder.
