HTC seems to have let the cat out of the bag regarding its U23 Pro smartphone, and the fans of the Taiwanese company have strong reasons to be excited. The phone stands out for its powerful 108 MP camera, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, and more.
HTC U23 Pro comes in a single storage version: 256GB. This might be perceived as a major downside by some people, while that amount of storage space represents pretty much a standard nowadays. However, users also have the possibility of enhancing the storage through a microSDXC card.
HTC U23 Pro comes with Android 13 out of the box
Android 13 might not be your cup of tea now that Android 14 is almost out for everybody, but even so, it would be a bit absurd to ask for more in this area. HTC U23 Pro sporting Android 13 means that an upgrade to Android 14 should be a very easy operation.
The HTC U23 Pro boasts an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth and vibrant visuals. The large 6.7-inch screen size offers an expansive viewing experience, while the high screen-to-body ratio is set at approximately 84.4%.
The phone is also powered by the Qualcomm SM7450-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. Its octa-core CPU consists of a combination of Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 cores,. The Adreno 644 GPU enhances graphics rendering.
The device provides ample storage with two RAM options: 8GB or 12GB.
The HTC U23 Pro features a versatile quad-camera setup, including a 108 MP main sensor for high-resolution photography, an 8 MP ultrawide lens for capturing wide-angle shots, a 5 MP macro lens for close-up photography, and a 2 MP depth sensor for depth effects. The camera setup is complemented by features such as dual-LED flash, HDR, and panorama. The device also supports 4K video recording with gyro-electronic image stabilization.
For selfies, there is a 32 MP front-facing camera that captures clear and detailed photos. The device supports HDR and 1080p video recording for high-quality self-portraits.
The HTC U23 Pro includes features like a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack, providing various audio options. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 standards, Bluetooth 5.2 for seamless connectivity, and multiple positioning systems including GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS.
The smartphone is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure and convenient unlocking. It also features sensors such as an accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass.
With its Li-Ion 4600 mAh non-removable battery, the HTC U23 Pro offers long-lasting power. It supports 30W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and even 5W reverse wireless charging, providing versatility in charging options.
Judging by the new phone’s specs, it’s clear that HTC has invested quite an effort in building it. But hey, you know what they say: no pain, no gain!
