The release of Electronic Arts and Ascendant Studios’ highly expected first person shooter game Immortals of Aveum has been delayed but before you’re too disappointed, you should know that players won’t have to wait too much regardless!
As you may have already been aware, Immortals of Aveum will be released this summer under the “EA Originals” label, as per an announcement made by EA back in the spring of this year.
That being said, while the game is still on schedule to release by the end of the summer, the development team claims they just need a little extra time to make it perfect.
Immortals of Aveum will now be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 22, according to a recent post on the Ascendant Studios official website.
Initially, the game was supposed to release on July 20, so this delay adds up to about a month from that original date.
Bret Robbins, CEO of Ascendent Studios, gave an explanation for the delay, saying that more time for development will result in a more polished shooter, which can only be good news for gamers at the end of the day.
Robbins wrote the following: “The recent feedback to the game proves to us what we already felt: that Immortals of Aveum is something special. In order to realize our full vision, we are going to take a few extra weeks, making our new launch date Tuesday, August 22. This will give us time to further polish the game, finish optimizing all platforms, and deliver a strong launch. We owe it to ourselves and to you to get this right.”
Immortals of Aveum is an entirely new IP rather than a well known franchise, so overall, this delay should not enrage too many fans.
Additionally, it makes sense Ascendant Studios would want Immortals to have the best possible first impression given that the game’s reception at launch could make or break how it’s received and its overall success going forward.
