Jang Ki Yong has enlisted on August 23 in the military and will be away from artistic projects for two years. As military enrolment is mandatory for men in South Korea, YG entertainment announced it is Jang Ki Yong’s turn. The actor and model wrote a hand-letter to fans and published it on Instagram. He also added a black and white photo of himself with his new army-style haircut.
Yang Ki Yong bids fans farewell
The letter posted on social media is short but touching. The actor thanked everyone who has been part of his life so far and for all the beautiful birthdays during his 20s. He hopes that he will return from the army as a strong and healthy man in his 30s.
Co-stars bid Jang Ki Yong farewell
Jang Ki Yong played in several series, including ‘My Roommate Is a Gumiho’. His co-star friend Kim Do Wan bid him farewell and posted a black and white photo on social media. He wishes him health and says that he will miss Jang Ki Yong. Kim Do Wan was not the only one to wish him all the best.
Jang Ki Yong was bid farewell by the other cast members of ‘Now We Are Breaking Up’. Song Hye Kyo, Kim Joo Heon, Park Hyo Joo, Choi Hee Seo, and Yoon Na Moo shared a picture of them on social media saying they love Jan Ki Yong.
The drama ‘Now We Are Breaking Up’ will be released in November, and Jang Ki Yong had to pre-record the press conference due to his military enlistment. In the drama, Jang Ki Yong plays the male lead, Yoon Jae Guk. The character is a wealthy photographer who does freelancing jobs. He is handsome and intelligent.
