Great news for Mafia fans: the new Mafia 5 is along its way! The game may already be preparing for pre-production, according to job listings. How cool is that?! One job listing looks for someone who can assist with “the effective delivery of a significant new game, including post-launch content and future franchise planning.”
So, let’s start with the beginning. Back in 2022, producer Hangar 13 announced that it had begun work on the following main Mafia series game. But there’s a catch! It was also discussed that the developer might be planning, too, what the franchise’s future would look like when Mafia 4 (or whatever its name would be) is released. That brings us here today when a recent job offering posted by Hangar 13 sheds some light on the possible future of Mafia 5.
It was previously reported back in May 2022 that the devs were also attempting to have a fifth installment approved so that it could begin development after the fourth game was out. Quite impressive, isn’t it?!

Going on further with the job listings, we have more to dig into! According to a job posting for the role of executive producer posted by Hangar 13 on LinkedIn, the production company is looking to hire someone to help with the growth of “a important franchise at Hangar 13.” That, my friends, ‘s most likely referring to Mafia.
Moreover, the candidate is said to get quite the role in the business! Based on the job listing, the person will “play a significant part in the successful delivery of a big new game,” along with its post-launch content and, curiously enough, “future franchise planning.” The upcoming game sure will come as one of the best entries considering the amount of interest given to the job listing!
Hangar 13’s reasons for such high requirements and advanced hiring process is due to the cancellation of an unannounced open-world game under a new IP in May last year. Some sources indicated that the devs were aiming to have numerous Mafia titles approved in order to prevent similar problems in the future.
