It seems that Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will be up and running on more phones in the near future than we originally thought. Meizu, the Chinese manufacturer that was founded almost two decades ago, is now preparing to bring its new Meizu 20 flagship smartphone to the market.
According to NOTEBOOKCHECK, the forthcoming Meizu 20 smartphone has appeared on Geekbench, which means that we already know what chipset it will have. As you’ve already guessed, the supposed Meizu 20 is presented to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is excellent news if you’re a fan of the Chinese brand.
Meizu 20 could launch in 2023
There are very few chances that Meizu will launch its Meizu 20 flagship this year. A 2023 release is a lot more probable, and also for the fact that there are sources confirming Meizu’s plans to launch a new phone in the upcoming months. We can’t be entirely sure that Meizu 20 is the device in question, but no other hypothetical phone seems more fit for the scenario at this point.
Judging by the info we have now, Meizu 20 will probably come with Android 13 out of the box and 12GB of RAM. But let’s take a look at the supposed Geekbench test that adds emphasis on the chipset:
The 1409 points in single-core and 4199 points in multi-core indeed represent impressive scores. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, by comparison, usually scores about 100 points less in both areas if you run the test in Geekbench 5.
You can also see the confirmation that the upcoming Meizu phone will be capable of 12GB of RAM. While so much RAM memory might sound a bit exaggerated right now, we’ll probably get used to it a lot more in 2023 and beyond.
Only time will tell for sure what the next Meizu flagship will be capable of, but we highly recommend you keep an eye on the latest news on the subject!
