The third season of Mindhunter is one of the most highly anticipated crime thriller series that hasn’t been officially renewed yet.
Netflix released the second season on August 16, 2019.
Since then, fans have been eager to learn more about the psychological crime thriller series.
Recent news suggests that David Fincher’s Mindunter Season 3 is currently in an early stage of production.
We’ve known for a while that David Fincher has been working with Netflix on the subject of renewing a third season for the series.
The report from Small Screen says:
“It’s been revealed to us by sources close to Netflix that discussions between the streamer and David Fincher for a Mindhunter Season 3 are back on.”
Small Screen’s source added:
“All I can really tell you about Mindhunter is that conversations between Netflix and Fincher are ongoing. They are discussing the possibility of bringing the show back for a third season. It’s still very early days, but Fincher sounds more upbeat about the project.”
Tech Radar has recently pointed out that, though the streaming service hasn’t officially renewed the series for a third season, it is still in an early stage of development, which made us get our hopes up.
It makes sense that we will get a third season to the series, as David Fincher was firm on expressing his interest in returning back with a new season.
Nobody ever said that they wanted to call it quits with Mindhunter, and that would have certainly been a shame, as the show is so popular and well-made.
If (or better said when) Mindhunter season 3 will be released, we are positive that Jonathan Groff, the lead star, will return to play the role of FBI agent Holden Ford, alongside Holt McCallany as FBI agent Bill Tench.
There is a chance that other stars will join them, like Anna Torv (as Wendy Carr), Stacey Roca (Nancy Tench), Joe Tuttle (Gregg Smith), Michael Cerveris (Ted Gunn), and Lauren Glazier (Kay Manz).
