Just about two weeks ago, we were able to get our hands on the first photos of the upcoming OnePlus 11, thanks to a tweet. The future phone of OnePlus now has an exact release date, and those willing to get their hands on the device will just have to wait a bit more than a month.
OnePlus is one of the phone manufacturers from China that had important contributions to the market in recent years. It doesn’t look like the company will slow it down too soon, and the upcoming OnePlus 11 represents another strong confirmation.
OnePlus 11 launches on February 7 during the OnePlus Cloud 11 event
The upcoming OnePlus Cloud 11 event will host the launch of the future OnePlus 11 phone, which is scheduled for February 7, 2023, according to NextPit.
The launch event will also take place in India. That’s indeed an interesting decision, considering that we’re talking about a country that is very active in the tech industry.
Unfortunately or not, OnePlus is determined to prolong the tension, as the Chinese brand hasn’t revealed any specs of the upcoming phone. But that doesn’t mean that it’s completely impossible to find out what the device will be capable of.
Will OnePlus 11 feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset?
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the latest and the best chipset created by Qualcomm, and we can sure hope to see it mounted on more and more smartphones in the near future. It might also be the case for the OnePlus 11 when it comes out on February 7 if the information provided by some unofficial sources is correct. Regardless of what the truth might be, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 implemented on the OnePlus 11 can only be a natural progression for the Chinese company’s smartphones.
The OnePlus Cloud 11 event might even host the launch of the Pro variant of the OnePlus 11 as well. It seems plausible, at least due to the fact that both upcoming phones contain the ’11’ number in their monikers.
We can expect the OnePlus 11 Pro to feature enough memory so that the majority of its future users won’t have anything to complain about. The device is likely to flaunt two versions of both RAM and storage. The highest pair consists of 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, surely many folks can also be satisfied with the other version of the 11 Pro device from OnePlus, the one that features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Let’s face it: one of the main aspects that people care about when they want to choose their next smartphone nowadays, if not the most important of them all, is represented by the cameras. That’s also an area where both the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus 11 Pro are expected to shine. The 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor is expected to power the main lens of the OnePlus 11, while the other two lenses are also pretty spectacular. Other unofficial sources claim that the future phone will feature a 48MP IMX581 ultrawide sensor and a 32MP IMX709 telephoto module.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 outclasses Gen 1 in Geekbench 5 tests
During the Geekbench 5 testing, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset obtains very high results. It’s able to reach around 1,400 points in single-core and roughly 4,500 in multi-core. Those results are significantly higher than what the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is capable of.
The latter is able to reach roughly 4,200 points in multi-core and about 1,300 points in single-core during the same Geekbench 5 testing. You can surely tell the difference between the two chipsets by looking at those scores.
It’s also safe to assume that both the upcoming OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus 11 Pro will cost around $800 each, but don’t be surprised if their prices will even exceed the 1,000 bucks threshold.
