The OnePlus 8 series that came out in 2020 easily represents among the best products that the famous Chinese brand brought to the world. Perhaps nobody would be willing to deny the usefulness of OxygenOS, but at the same time, most people would probably confirm the superiority of LineageOS.
According to Android Police, LineageOS 19 is now arriving non-empty-handed for the OnePlus 8 series as well as for some Samsung models. The Android-based operating system has recently been updated. As you’ve already guessed, the update won’t provide an experience that’s too different from one that you can get while using Android 12.
The OnePlus phones getting LineageOS 19 are the following:
- OnePlus 8
- OnePlus 8T
- OnePlus 8 Pro
LineageOS remains a free and open-source Android-based operating system. The security part plays an important role for LineageOS, as here’s what the developers have to say about it:
Your data, your rules. Along with monthly security updates to every supported device, we enhance existing privacy touchpoints around the OS and keep you informed of how the system shares your data.
OnePlus 8 Pro is arguably the best phone of its series, and there are plenty of arguments to support the claim. The device comes equipped with two versions of RAM (8GB and 12GB), two storage versions (128GB and 256GB), a huge Fluid AMOLED display of 6.78 inches and 120Hz, a Snapdragon 865 5G chipset, and more.
Surprisingly enough, there’s no card slot available on the OnePlus 8 Pro, but you probably won’t need any, considering the storage space that should be enough for most users. There’s also a quad camera setup with a main sensor of 48MP.
Samsung Galaxy A52 4G and Galaxy A72 models are also getting the LineageOS 19 update, and the move cannot surprise anyone. Those devices are two of the most popular mid-range phones built by the South Korean giant.
