On Wednesday (October 4), Google presented its new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, which are intended to compete with Apple’s recently released iPhone 15 series. The phones, which come at a starting price of $699 and $999, respectively, serve as showcases for the powerful artificial intelligence skills of Google. These features include a more intelligent assistant that answers calls for you (Pixel 8 Pro), a built-in thermometer, and crazy new picture and video capabilities. That is so great, right?
Find out more cool details below.
What Can You Expect From the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro?
The new Google Tensor G3 processor is used in both the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro. The G3 is an in-house microprocessor developed by the tech giant and enables users to make use of its capabilities in the fields of AI and machine learning while using the camera, for example. Additionally, the design of both phones has been subtly updated, and new color options have been added (yay!). One of the new cool colors includes the blue “Bay” shade that was added to the Pixel 8 Pro.
Editing features driven by AI are included in the Pixel 8 Pro. For instance, Best Take is a new picture tool that may be used in addition to the well-known Magic Eraser, which lets you eliminate undesired images from photos. The Audio Magic Eraser app enables users to clean up movies by removing unwanted noises. Sleek!
What about the camera skills?
The Pixel 8’s primary camera has been upgraded to 50 MP, which allows it to gather 21% more light than its predecessor. Additionally, the ultra-wide camera has been given focusing, which enables it to take macro photographs of extremely close-up subjects. Neat!
The Pixel 8 Pro also has a 48 MP ultra-wide camera that captures 105% more light, a 48 MP 5x optical telephoto camera that catches 56% more light, and a 50-megapixel camera that lets in 21% more light. If you’re into photography, we bet you’re going to appreciate the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro!
Finally, both the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro are the very first smartphones to ship with Android 14 pre-installed right out of the box. Make sure that you are also one of the first people to get one of them!
