If you’ve been paying attention to the Pokémon Go April Fools’ 2-Oh?-22 event, surely you found out about the task of catching three Transform Pokemon. While plenty of players got confused, you may have a clue about what Transform Pokemon can refer to if you’ve been a Pokemon fan from the old days.
Remember Ditto? That extremely versatile Pokemon that Drake used against Ash back in the Orange Islands’ main battle in the anime? Ditto fought Ash’s Pikachu while transforming itself into a Pikachu, but it became clear that nothing beats the original. Our beloved Pikachu won that battle after a fierce fight.
Ditto is the Transform Pokemon you need
Ditto has the ability to copy its adversary completely and transform itself into any other Pokemon. Therefore, there’s no wonder why Ditto is the Transform Pokemon trainers need. Ditto is a Pokemon from the very first generation, and getting your hands on it is not exactly like a walk in the park. That’s where the Pokémon Go April Fools’ Day comes in handy, making the Transform Pokemon more predominant than before.
Ditto isn’t able to evolve into or from any other Pokemon. Interestingly enough, Ditto is classified as a Normal-type Pokemon, although we might be tempted to believe that his transformation ability recommends him as a Psychic-type. But hey, the world of Pokemon works in mysterious ways!
Pokemon GO players still need to grow eyes in the back of their heads if they are after Ditto. The Gen 1 Pokemon can appear as pretty much any other Pokemon by using its ability to transform.
It’s useful to keep in mind that Pokemon GO initially started off with only 150 Pokemon that were included in the very first generation. Meanwhile, later generations brought new Pokemon to the famous augmented reality game. By 2022, there were about 700 Pokemon included in Pokemon GO.
