Porygon is a very popular Virtual Pokemon, though he is a Normal-type in the game. However, there is one detail about him that displeases some players – Porygon is one of the hardest Pokemon to evolve.
To evolve the Pokemon, some particular evolution items and plenty of candies are required.
If you don’t already own Porygon, this is your chance to catch him, as the Ultra Unlock 2021: Time event is still going strong, and it increases the chance of Porygon spawning more frequently out there.
This is an official announcement regarding the event:
The flow of time has been disrupted! Dialga is appearing in five-star raids, and Pokemon from various eras are appearing more often as part of the Ultra Unlock Part 1: Time event! https://t.co/wG8OzlgzRb pic.twitter.com/RXjTci4irO

Porygon can evolve into Porygon2 and Porygon-Z. He requires an Upgrade and 25 Porygon Candy to turn into Porygon2.
However, if you are looking for Porygon-Z, you need a Sinnoh Stone and 100 Porygon Candy, which can be quite an ordeal to get a hold of.
Thankfully, the Ultra Unlock event comes into play to help. On the fourth step of the event’s Time Timed Research, you will get tasked to catch seven Porygon, which will grant you an Upgrade.
However, you have to hurry up if you want to benefit from what the event has to offer, as it will stop on August 3, at 8:00 pm.
Alternatively, you can get Upgrades from PokeStops, as evolution items have a (very tiny) chance of being dropped.
If you aim to evolve the Pokemon into Porygon-Z, you can obtain a Sinnoh stone from PvP Trainer Battles, collecting a seven-day Research Breakthrough reward, or beating a Team GO Rocket Leader.
