Razer’s newest Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar, which includes head-tracking AI, is now available for pre-order. If you order the soundbar now, you won’t have to wait long to get it (the shipment date is February 3). You may now purchase a Leviathan through Razer, but only from them. In spite of the steep price tag of $399.99, it seems to be a significant improvement over its predecessors.
The Razer Leviathan V2 Pro, shown at CES this year, employs an infrared (IR) camera to monitor the wearer’s location and provides directional audio to optimize the listening experience regardless of where the wearer is in the room. You can enjoy the soundscape the soundbar creates from every seat in the room thanks to beamforming technology. The soundbar has a virtual headset mode for 2.1 stereo sound and a virtual speaker mode for simulating a 7.1 surround soundstage, and it has been approved for THX Spatial Audio.
There are five full-range 2-inch speakers in the soundbar itself, plus a 5.25-inch driver in a separate subwoofer unit, to produce the audio. The final product ought to provide a listening experience with crisp highs and deep lows. However, the subwoofer must be connected to the soundbar and must have its own power supply.
The soundbar has a USB Type-C connector and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to be connected to a computer or mobile device. For those times when you’d rather not disturb others around you, a 3.5mm jack is provided for headphones. Use the Razer Audio app on your smartphone to adjust the sound quality while pairing with this product. Since it’s a Razer, you may expect that it works with the Chroma RGB lighting system. There are 30 individual RGB lighting zones positioned just below the soundbar, letting you customize the lighting to match the rest of your rig.
