Mercenary Mode is an incredible arcade-style horde mode that is a sleek mainstay of the Resident Evil games, where players battle waves of infected to compete for high scores. Quite impressive, isn’t it?!
The Mercenary Mode in the original Resident Evil 4 could be unlocked after finishing the game’s. Still, Capcomut Capcom decided against that approach for the remake and said the Mode would arrive tomorrow, April 7. Ada Wong and Albert Wesker, who both appeared in earlier variants of the Mode and were datamined as appearing in the remake, are actually not playable characters in the current version that is available in some zones only. Meanwhile, others have come up with a thing that Capcom may eventually plan to charge us for the character’s availability. That would definitely be something!
Well, that supports some rumors that microtransactions could finally make their way into the game. Some players have actually started seeing something similar to “upgrade tickets,” which is a type of digital ticket on internet retailers. Such a system would allow players to advance more quickly through Mercenary Mode runs.
Now, what’s really curious is what those tickets say. Check them out below:
And the following message is available:
Here’s your ticket to the gun show! Specifically a ticket to be redeemed at the Merchant’s shop. With this, you’ll have access to a weapon’s exclusive upgrade at any time, regardless of the weapon’s level. Not only that, but once unlocked, the upgrade itself is free of charge!
Stay tuned for more sleek Resident Evil 4 news!
