Say what you wish about the classic DOOM game – that it has horrible graphics, that the gameplay is extremely obsolete compared to what’s in the trend today, and so on. But nobody can deny the legendary title’s tremendous importance for the history and development of the first-person shooter gaming scene.
“Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition” is another one of those first-person shooters that resemble the classic DOOM game a lot. The graphics are pixelated, the gameplay elements aren’t too advanced, and so on. But hey, the game is now in 4K! Therefore, those who are eager to play another “DOOM clone” will have just a few weeks more to wait in order to give “Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition” a try.

“Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition,” the highly anticipated release of the cult classic first-person shooter, is set to release on July 31, 2023, as TGG reveals. Developed by Apogee Entertainment, New Blood Interactive, and Nightdive Studios, the new game will be available on multiple platforms, such as PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
If you want to play the game on the PC and get the best of what it has to offer, you’ll need a laptop/desktop computer that meets the recommended system requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics card: GPU with DirectX 11 or Vulkan 1.1 support
- Storage space: 420 MB
