Samsung launched its 2023 flagship back in February, meaning the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup. All three phones, the standard, Plus, and Ultra versions, come equipped with the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset built by Qualcomm.
Therefore, it should be only a matter of time before a Fan Edition (FE) version of the Galaxy S23 comes out as well. For those unaware, Fan Edition versions are cheaper variants of the main phone.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE could launch earlier than Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5
GSMArena has discovered a new report suggesting that Samsung’s Galaxy S23 family has experienced a significant decline in sales this month. Compared to the previous Galaxy S22 series, the sales for the second quarter of 2023 are projected to be down by 20%. This decline is attributed to lower demand than expected from the consumer market, with most early adopters already purchasing their devices by March.
As a result, Samsung is advancing the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE, meaning the budget-friendly version of the Galaxy S23 flagship model. The Galaxy S23 FE is expected to hit the market in July. If it’s true, it will precede the release of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5.

Due to the sluggish sales of the S series, there are predictions that Samsung Electronics will release the ‘Galaxy S23 FE’ in certain regions before the launch of the new foldable phone. In this case, the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to be released around July or August.
The price for the standard Galaxy S23 is somewhere around $650, so it’s interesting to see how much the FE will cost.
In the end, it’s a good idea to keep in mind that the details remain speculative and should be taken with a grain of salt, as they are yet to be officially confirmed.
