There is no doubt that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 came out with some significant upgrades when compared to the model that was launched before it, the Flip 3.
That being said, however, while the formula used is impressive as it is, Samsung has still not been able to get rid of some of the biggest issues with its foldable design.
For instance, the tiny cover display and the prominent crease are still problems you will have to deal with if you purchase the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
However, the good news is that according to the latest rumors, Galaxy Z Flip 5 might just solve both these issues and more upon its launch next year.
According to display analyst Ross Young, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is bound to bring some significant changes to all the other models before it.
This apparently includes a brand new hinge design that may reduce that annoying crease on the main display.
While it’s possible it will be addressed as well, it’s still unclear whether or not this new hinge will play any role in getting rid of the gap Samsung’s foldables currently have.
The same source also went on to share that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is going to come with a bigger cover display measuring three inches wide or even more.
While that doesn’t sound like a lot, when compared to the 1.9 inch AMOLED secondary screen the Z Flip 4 offers, it’s safe to say it’s a significant boost of 60 percent diagonally!
The dual camera could be repositioned in order to accommodate the bigger version as well as it currently can be found adjacent to the front display.
Judging by all the rumored changes, it sounds like Samsung might just end up redesigning their next foldable altogether.
Since the Galaxy Z Flip 4 was just launched back in August, the next gen foldables will most likely arrive in the second half of 2023.
As far as the larger Galaxy Z Fold 4 is concerned, there are still no details known publicly at this point but it will most likely benefit from the brand new hardware as well, including the better quality folding system.
