Samsung plans to release two new powerful ‘foldables’ in late July: the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. In case you’re worrying that you’ll miss the boat and won’t get to see the news around that date, we have already gotten our hands on some of the specs for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 model.
SamMobile has spotted the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 on Geekbench, which means that we can learn a lot about the upcoming device’s technical specs.
Samsung prioritizes the security of the Galaxy Z Fold5
Samsung aims to add special attention to the security of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold5 by granting four major Android updates, as well as five years of security updates.
The new Geekbench listing reveals that the Fold 5 will come equipped with Android 13 out of the box, 12GB of RAM, and a powerful processor. The single-core score is 1845, while the multi-core score is 5083. Those are pretty high numbers, and we have to admit it!
We recently also found out that both the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be capable of reaching IP58 rating for protection against water and dust. That means that having either one of the two devices in your pocket means that you won’t have many worries going through the rain. It’s a bit sad that there are still plenty of smartphones out there that lack water protection, and companies should look for ways to fix the issue. Smartphones are more important for some folks than laptops or PC computers, which is why our portable computers deserve more ‘love.
Samsung will officially unveil the new Galaxy Z Fold 5 during the Unpacked event that will be held in Korea in late July. Will you be willing to see the phone exposed in all its glory?
