Games running on 8-bit or 16-bit consoles represented the bee’s knees a few decades ago. Since they’ve tremendously impacted the childhood of many of us, there’s no wonder why such games still have their fanbase today, in 2022.
The Sega Genesis console was one of the top-rated consoles back in the ’90s. It was a 16-bit gaming machine, and some of the most famous games that were compatible with it were those from series such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania, Mortal Kombat, Contra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Street Fighter, and a lot more.
SEGA Genesis Mini 2 is available on October 27
It’s great to see that SEGA wanted to revive the original console through an improved one – the SEGA Genesis Mini 2. This later console reinvents the first gaming machine launched in 2019 with a new compact design, upgraded hardware capable of storing more games, and it includes sequels to hit titles, games available only for the SEGA Genesis, and more. There will even be new games the world has never seen before!
Feel free to check out the promotional video presenting the console:
The upgraded console also brings a collection of more than 50 classic titles.
Here’s what an official description of the upcoming console says:
The definitive mini console of 2019, the SEGA Genesis Mini, has been completely revamped!
Its improved hardware is tucked away in a new, compact design based on the SEGA Genesis Model 2!
In addition, the console now comes with the 6-Button Control Pad!
*The controllers released for the SEGA Genesis Mini are also compatible.
We know you’re eager to get your hands on the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 console if you’re nostalgic about those 16-bit games! You can do so by accessing Amazon’s website, where you can pre-order the gaming machine for just about 106 bucks.
